I thought it looked like 7mm Polilite, too, at first, but I'm pretty sure you would be pushing it to get one piece of that stuff through the eye, let alone two. I had a second look at the video and it looks thinner. I've been using 5mm rope, but I'll see what fits (and what doesn't) over the weekend.
I wouldn't use Polilite anyway . . . the rope's strength lies in the cover, not the core. if the outer cover starts to fray, you may just make it to the finishing-line before doing a back-flip over the side.
