Does anyone use cloud based CRM software or a cloud based database at their club? What I'd like is something like a cloud based version of MS Access which doesn't cost the earth so that the membership sec, training principal and I can add and access membership details to a central database.
Any ideas?

If all you're after is something dead simple then you could use the spreadsheet functionality of Google Docs which is free and allows you to collaborate. There is also the Google Tables within Google docs which is more like access although there isn't a way of generating a GUI as such.

Take a look at Group Spaces (http://groupspaces.com/) - until this month it was free up to 500 members, but they have now introduced a small charge. It is quite a nice solution if you just want some basic membership management functions. There are lots of various clubs using it for membership records and communications. If you want a more fully featured CRM - then there is Sugar CRM. You need to look for the community edition on the Sugar CRM website (they have hidden it a bit becuase its free!). You'll need to set up a PHP/mySQL/Apache stack to run it (unless your host does it for you) - but that is all pretty easy these days (try XAMPP). Mark Edited by marke - 09 May 12 at 11:17am |

I run it under Joomla for our club membership database, although it integrates better with Joomla or can run standalone. Once set up, it works very well, but can be quite resource intensive for larger databases, check out the technical requirements first. |
