Hi,

New to the forum.

I am in the process of restoring a Jullian Everett North 26 "Dead Ringer" has anyone any info on this boat. Don't know if it was the boat that won? The Round the Island race in the early 80's ??

The boat was built using west system and is very good condition only bits I am replacing are under the primary winches must have been due to high loads.

Any info would be great.

Alan

Alan don't get too dis-heartened. I guess this is really more of a dinghy forum and no one has seen this thread that knows anything about a North 26. Were there many built?

I believe only 3 in this country, 2 epoxy/ply and one alloy.

Just thought someone may remember racing against it.

Cheers

Hi,
I used to own Dead Ringer.
1987-1990.
I bought her off the guy who built her in S Wales.
He used to race regularly in the Bristol Channel from Usk River SC I think.
We sailed her in Falmouth for 3 years.
I sold her to a chap called Alex Sutherland who trucked her up to Scotland. Firth of Forth I believe.

Always worth posting something like this as proved above. There are so many 'lurkers' on this forum who might decide to post when they see something they want to reply to. Thank you both Alan T and jetmail!

In case you are interested I have bought Dead Ringer from Alan T. this Autumn.Have got her back to my home in Aberdeen and have built a shelter to protect from the weather. Would very much like to know about how she was rigged e.g.  the mainsheet traveller is missing and the  jammers on lines from the mast foot. your experience with the lifting keel would also be appreciated.
