Hi
I am not using my boat at the moment and i cant see myself using it again because i am selling it but i want it cover for theft and damage from other boats in the boat park is there any insurance companies who provide cover for this at minimal costs or do i just have to go for third party fire and theft cover? |

If it's in a sailing club boat park, you probably need third party cover.
It's the boats that are not used that blow over and damage other boats. It's that time of year where everyone needs to tie their boat down properly. Ask a broker about laid up insurance, but I doubt it will be much cheaper for dinghies, particularly if you are leaving it in the boat park. The risk would be much less in a private garage for instance. |

I'm inclined to agree with that. As far as boats blowing over, I always make a point of checking my neighbours boats as well as my own, it only takes a mo, but could end up saving a lot of grief for you.

I've asked Bishop Skinner about laid up insurance for dinghies but they don't do it. The boats are at home in the garden or garage so may be covered by the house contents insurance except they have fixed value limits for stuff in the garage and garden. Anyone know a firm that does laid-up cover cheaply?

Loll up Insurance4dinghies as they do 3 levels of cover. Their bronze cover does include sailing but not racing I think. I know still not quite what you want but I did find them cheaper than other companies.
I wouldn't trust my home insurance as they can exclude some sporting equipment.
