Hi Jezza

Many thanks for that tip - extremely useful and I didn't know about that. The only problem is that it works happily on that as contenteditable is enabled!

Any feedback on trying forum posting with the WYSIWYG editor disabled?

Cheers, Mark

I guess the solution would be for us to detect that you're using an ipad and make sure it uses the non-WYSIWYG option then. But that sends us down the customising the forum software route further, which makes it more and more of a nightmare every time we upgrade it. It's a bit of a catch 22!

From my googling the problem I'd be surprised if Apple didn't add support for contenteditable in the near future - there are some seriously angry developers out there!

Just really pleased, that it wasn't me being a moron.... With my shifts, it is often more convenient to post on the IPad...

But still not sure if I will need to switch the WYSIWYG application back on when using the PC. If I don't, then why just not disable it, until requested??..

Or, the other option, and one the BBC use, create an App that replicates the site in an IPod friendly environment??

Sorry, realise, that may mean a lot of work, but may be an option (And if you were to do a Y&Y App, charging say a fiver, extra revenue!!!).....

Posting will work with WYSIWYG on PC, you just won't have the formatting options.

Creating apps etc. would be great, but I'm not sure you realise how small the YachtsandYachting.com team is - it's me and Magnus!

Sorry Mark, I must be thick, what are the formatting options??

To be fair, I see no difference with WYSIWYG switched on or off on the PC......

Am I missing something??   I am guessing that it has something to do with the adverts that pay for the site (Thank you advertisers!)..

Just intreguiged, as not sure what the WYSIWYG function does?

However, pleased I seem, not to need to create two logins, for both machines....

Excuse, my ignorance, but my computing started with the ZX81, and believe it or not, things have moved on since then!! But, I have not kept up to speed....

WYSIWYG stands for 'What You See Is What You Get' - when the WYSIWYG editor is disabled you lose some of the formatting options.
