49ers today on the Nothe Coarse. Not too bad a view actually. Close enough to hear the battens popping. Very dependent on wind direction though. As the wing swung further south the top mark got further away.

It was quite interesting to see a lot of the foreign teams spectating up on the hill. Good cheer from the Brits as Ben and Stevie rounded the top mark in first and an even larger groan when they stuffed it on on the bearaway  Cry

The coach boats are actually in a holding area downwind of the start line (for the Olympic test event) so you probably have a better view than we do!!!

Is it normal to have large clocks on the committee boat counting down to the start on big events like these? Dead useful from a spectator point of view. Just not seen them before.
