Can I ask - do any of you dinghy instructors out there have any personal liability insurance that covers you while instructing or do you rely on the establishment you are working for covering you? Does it make any difference if you are paid (hence an employee) or volunteering?
I only ask as Seabadger has just gone out to Minorca for 10 weeks and her dad asked me this question to which I gave a rather unsure answer. Seabadgers mum Edited by A Seabadger |

I have what is called the RYA Coaches endemnity insurance, the only reason I have this is because it was a requirement for a contract I have to teach powerboating. It costs £35 and is available here (Clicky) from Heath Lambert, they will send you a few forms, fill them in and send them on. If you would like me to forward you the forms (I got them last year 2009 though) pm me an email and I can send what I got through to you. |

Same issue arises for umpires and other race officials - are you sure club/sailing school is insured?
