That would be the plan; I think Hammerite does the job!

Remember though that if you dont paint the inside of the tube, it will corrode from the inside!

I have a can of "cold galvanising spray paint" made by Rocol you are welcome to use some if you live near hitchin (or if you are up at Grafham when I am next?) to put on the holes first.

I think it is just a high tenacity paint full of zinc.

Is the galvanised tube proper structural stuff or just low strength conduit ?

Whereabouts are you in the country (within Herts)?

As I say the guy who I get to make custom boat and motorbike fittings for me would probably be some use to you?

weird, me too. As I say you are more than welcome to borrow my can of cold galvanising spray to touch in any screw holes to save buying one if you want.

Don't know what the policy on adverts is but try this guy www.stotfoldengineers.co.uk.  He will put you in touch with the right people. He made some fence brackets for me last week in preplated steel and he has done chrome plated and passivated bits before (as well as nice stainless vortex boat fittings to your spec).

Apologies to moderators if this isn't allowed.
