30knots, maybe more in a Cherub at Kielder Water - using the kite, but we made a precautionary retirement at the end of the first lap.
"F8" at Datchet in a Harrier (according to the club secretary: the rig was so floppy I honestsly didn't realise it was that windy) And the fish were *that* big... |

Over 40 mph in a Tera. It actually felt a little under powered in the 30mph lulls, and sadly the mast kinda changed shape, bent forwards. Other than that, I bottle out long before it gets too silly.

Not sure as I really don't trust ANY anemometers but windy enough that there was nothing but white horses everywhere and constant spray coming off the sea and me thinking, "please lord let me just make it back to shore, this was a stupid stupid idea!"

25+knts at blym in a pico and the rig was flexing further falward than the bow in the gusts downwind. There surprisingly fun boats in good wind.

Funny how Grafham does that.
Had a few hairy moments there. Anyone remember that "Grand Prix"? when it hit force 11. All the 15's were sheltering round the corner, and we were struggling to get upwind in our 4000. Didn't get far and ended up sailing in on our jib only with me on the wire! Then a trip to hospital, one neck brace later and alls well.
I can't remember much more because you can't see much strapped to a stretcher in an ambulance

At the most recent Yoof nats in Largs on the wednesday the cranes were recording 55+ knts and us 29ers were right next to them. But no more than 1 mile away the lasers had 12 knts. I never did warm to Largs unfortunately.......

I did an offshore race a few months ago and we had about 35 knots of wind. Going forward to hook up the kite and set the pole before hoists was extremely hairy. I was thankful that no one demanded a headsail change...
