The J80 team im in had to lose some weight for Cowes Week
because we were 37kg over the 338kg limit, and because i
was the lightest out of the 5 of us it was decided that i
would be the one that doesnt race this year.
I will be going down to Cowes for the week for
support and of course for all the drinking!

As i will be there anyway i will on the lookout for
anyone that is in need of as spare crew for the week/a
few days.

So...

Is anyone on here doing Cowes week?

And

Does anyone need or know of anyone that needs a crew for
the week?

CV (if it helps)
Been cruiser sailing since i was a small child
Sailed the channel many times with my father
Competed in many races on the east coast.
Competed in Sail East twice (1st in irc class 4 2008, 2nd
in irc class 4 2009)
Currently sail an RS600 and a J80

Im about 5' 5", around 65kg ish.

We havent had the J80 for long so havent really settled
into set positions yet. Ive been on jib trim for most of
the time though. Im light and pretty nimble so when im in
other boats im normally sent to leeward for trimming or
foredeck to skirt the jib foot. Im happy with wherever
though.

Ah thats a shame. But not to worry.
If you hear of anyone that needs a small light crew then if
you could possibly let them know that im available that
would be brilliant.

Cheers

Dan

Oh man I wish I could get a week off and come sailing with you guys.  I think I qualify on the weight side and have previous Corby experience.  Shame I'm about to enter the busiest quarter my company has seen in recent years and holidays have been banned

Salty,

Amazon will be in cowes this year and may have a space (speak to chris w on FB)

As for saltys ability he's very good, was able to turn his hand to anything we barked at him when he came racing with us on PJ.  perfect size for bow on a small racing yacht, or as a monkey to send up the rig on a iacc!

cant believe they decided to loose you rather that go on a team diet! drysuits on and go for a run!

Just messaged chris on FB.

Thanks for bigging me up there Oli :D

Ben is now over 90kg and the average weight between 5 of us
would have to be 67kg each, and seeing as only 2 of us
fitted near that and i was the lightest, it was easiest to
knock one of us off.
But its the same deal with the Felixstowe regatta so we
decided that Jools wouldnt be doing that one and i would.
