Hello,

I am looking for some long wooden battens for my classic Hornet. I have a fully battened main but no battens. Has any one got some old ones hiding in the shed?

Longest length is 8 foot one inch and about one and three quarter inches width but any will do.

Thanks in anticipation

Roger

I think you'll find unwarped ones are like rocking horse ****... I got some show only ones made up out of cedar a few years ago, but (as expected) they were too fragile to use sailing. Best to get some plastic ones.

Cheers Alex. If you have them and the are still ok I am sure we can work out some means of getting them south and rewarding you. Other wise its a trip to find a nicely grained peice of ash and start making some. Hickory I am told is the ideal but that is also like rocking horse **** in long enough lenghts.
