29er refurb

just bought a tatty old 29er for very cheap. planning to spend some time and money making it racing spec again to sail with a mate at uni (and then sell if that doesnt work out)

right, well first off im looking for a good source of progrip (for a 29er) i remember someone sending me a link to some cheap stuff (russ mabe?). any ideas people would be greatly appreciated (other stuff accepted aslong as it doesnt make a boat look rubbish.....)

then the halyards are terrible. (they have half vectran/ spectran - whatever the expensive non stretch stuff is). the other half is 3strand spliced back into itself. now this stuff is really fat and so doesnt go up the hole in the mast well. im thinking of replacing with 1.5/ 2mm stuff which i can splice into another loop (this end doesnt take any load). there are so many different names so which is the stuff i need?

then downhaul/kicker. tempted with the laser control line stuff but any other/better suggestions?

and lastly we have kite sheets. now these appear to be laser mainsheet stuff but i fancy some maffioli stuff really (any point?)

what diameter shroud pins does the 29er use as i hate too many pins with rings.....

now im sure i will have forgotted stuff so will have to post more as it goes on.

P.S, just remembered, what is the stuff i want to glue the progrip/ non slip stuff down?

Last time I went to buy evo stick from B&Q I got ID'd because they wouldn't sell it to me unless I could prove I was over 21.  Rather irritatedly, I said to the dippy woman at the till "Am I missing something here?  Am I less likely to get myself high just because I have a little card telling you a date?".

But it is the best stuff as far as im aware for getting that progrip down.
