if the shrouds and trapeze wires use t-terminals, take these out when threading halyards through!

new Trick..... Set mast down the slip and propped on a box. inserted mouse line (use 1mm wipping and bath chain). THEN.... inserted hose into top of mast, and fed in the first 1/2 for the line.... this then washed the line straight to bottom of mast - easy! worked a treat! /f

Thats a nice twist on it. Will try the hose next time. I carry the bath chain inthe tool box all the time now. You never know when it will come in handy. Rescued a poor chap who was trying to take the family sailing from Studland beach one day when the main halyard on his gp had snapped.

Electricians pulling rod, about £15 from screwfix works really well, they screw together. If your rig tension is put on using the forestay and the purchase is attached at the bottom of the mast rather than tack, and the wire jib halyard goes inside the mast. Make sure all the other halyards that run inside the mast are tight before putting the rig tension on. Otherwise its easy to catch the slack rope between the jib halyard and mast.
