talking rot

Sometimes you have to take time off from sailing and look to do a bit of house maintenance. Not always a good idea. I was shocked to find that a small piece of rot I had noted at the corner of two jointed window frames was quite a bit bigger once cleaned in fact there is a bit of a void in the wood once all the loose stuff had been scraped back.

I've dried it and sealed it but this time rather than use domestic fillers - which seem to have mixed success I was going to get the big guns out and West it all up and do the job for good. However I've never used epoxy for filling larger voids - but I suppose it just means coarser micro-balloons.

Any comments on doing this and can anyone suggest a reasonable source of bulk-ish West - I suspect I'm going to need about 1kg.

	You'll bulk it up a lot more and a lot cheaper if you can find some sawdust... But I think I'd just use polyfilla! Maybe use Epoxy to seal the edges if I was keen, then something cheap for the bulk o the job. Edited by JimC
