Does it say anything about quick release trapeze harnesses?  Are they likely to become compulsory?

 This is what has been added (red) and deleted:

40         PERSONAL BUOYANCY FLOTATION DEVICES; HARNESSES

40.1      When flag Y is displayed with one sound before or with the warning signal, competitors shall wear life-jackets or other adequate personal buoyancy personal flotation devices, except briefly while changing or adjusting clothing or personal equipment. Wet suits and dry suits are not adequate personal buoyancy flotation devices.

40.2      A trapeze or hiking harness shall have a device that can quickly
release the competitor from the boat at any time while in use.

Note: This rule takes effect on 1 January 2006.


So no, this rule which was scheduled for 2009, will not be added.
