Currently refurbishing a Cadet with my sons and need some advice on rigging (mainly mainsheet and spinnaker) and some plans to ensure I conform to class rules. No joy from class association website. Anybody got any ideas or advice ?

You need the class rules rather than plans.
Try http://www.cadetclass.org/Downloads/ICC%20Rules.pdf There is a link to the international Cadet Association from the Y&Y classes page. http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/default2.asp?section=42 Try and find a cadet sailor near you so you can look at that boat - Where is your local club? You could go to an open or alternatively the Dinghy show. Phone the UK class secretary and ask them what clubs sail Cadets regularly. Failing all that most instructors armed with the class rules should be able to help you rig something that's legal and works (but maybe not the latest thinking) Hope this helps |
