Ive bought carbon from ebay in the past with no problems but make sure your getting the right stuff.
3k is the 'standard' for the kind of weight cloth you will be after but quite a bit of the stuff that apears on ebay is cheeper because it is 6k or even 12k which is much harder to wet out and work with. (the 'k' refers to the number of fibres in each strand... so 6k means each strand in the cloth is twice as big as 3k... and therefore in the same weight cloth the strands are further apart to make up for the differance and it all tends to fall to bits if your not carefull)

It is cheeper and will perform more or less the same but id avoid it if possible.

Edit: obviously if your after a heavier cloth then a higher K is perfectly fine!
