   Alinghi's weather team was put up to face the music - ie the media -
this morning at the Alinghi base. They were asked to explain what's
going on with the weather, and why Valencia was chosen as a suitable
venue for the Cup.

Armed with this year’s weather data to add to the existing data, would
you still recommend Valencia to hold an LVC in April/May and the
America’s Cup Match in June?
“Yes of course, you can see from the
data that this has been an exceptionally bad month, it has been
unlucky, but any venue at any time can suffer from this sort of thing.
The weather is the weather after all and it is uncontrollable,” Jon
Bilger.

8. Knowing what you know now, what other venue for the America’s Cup would you have recommended?
“We
still stand by our analysis that Valencia is a good sailing venue, it
should not be judged on a single meteorological event,” Jon Bilger.

	Its intresting to contemplate what the IOC will reply when faced with similar questions re quindingly dangly in China at next Olympics - or perhaps the weather will "unpredictably save their day !

	Just had to say that I went to the Port Americas Cup last Monday and it was soooo cool! My boss has free tickets to go and sail on a yacht and watch the racing, so i might be going on Friday...Hopefully! GO SPAIN! lol! (Yes, I know they will lose!)
