Hi guys I have a lovely contender number 423 the only thing is that the thing is letting water in through the screws for the slot gasket as they go stright into the bottom of the hull into the airspace. Was just wondering if anyone could recommend something to water tight the screws as its quite frustrating knowing that after twenty minutes sailing i've got a gallon of water sloshing around inside conspiring to make me wobble and fall in.Was thinking some kind of waterproof putty or something.I tried filling the holes and redrilling them but this didn't cure the problem if anything it made it worse.Yours slowly sinking!!!

surely just some gasket sealer i.e. sikaflex would do it- maybe epoxy them in to make them really solid?

James, I'd strongly recommend checking VERY carefully around the C/B case for cracks. If redrilling the holes didn't cure the leak, maybe the leak is from somewhere else?

Oh, and Thunderchild - which FD have you got, and why you not brought it out to play? Where are you based?

If you can send me some photos I might be able to identify it for you. Let me know if you need any help or bits to speed up the rigging process. Have fun!
