Value for money?

The thing is your committee should be voted in and out by the membership. As I was told if you want to change the committee get everyone to vote them out, the only problem then is getting a new committee in.

Get involved is the answer, my club seems to tick all boxes, we are not all that serious about racing and we do have a good social scene (and bear in mind a lot of members live 20+ miles away).

I did 2 years on the committee, was a real eye opener to the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes.

Oh and for the fees discussion I pay around £130/year for family membership plus 1 boat. The club stipulates 2 duties per family membership. On the whole it runs quite well.
