Hi all, you've never failed me before so here I go again......

This week I am attempting to replace a shroud. All is well except the part where I get it through the spreader arm now that it has the end fitting on it.

I think the end of the arm should simply slide out, allowing me to put the wire through it and put it all back together. Unfortunatly the end doesnt seem to want to come out despite lots of fresh water & 3 in 1 oil.

Does any one have any helpfull ideas, exploded diagrams, warnings what not to do?

Finally I was toying with the idea of heating the end in attempt to free it, good idea/bad idea?

thanks in advance

d

What make and model of spreader is it? Any chance of a cheeky picture to help us decide?

try heating it with boiling water , gentler and less destructive than a flame
