I love the GP kite (it's super slippery Dynalite), but the jury is still out on the shape.

It's flatter than the Landy but I'm having trouble getting the sheeting position right. At Eastbourne it was much better than at previous events but it's still not quite right. At the moment it looks like the correct position for the block is inboard on the edge of the tramp and back behind the shroud. I think my next try will be an autoratchet on a strop set forward of the shroud but it will have the same effect as a lead further aft.

Far too old to still be doing this......

Yep. The orange is a Landy Mk1. I think he's up to a Mk4 on the F16 kite. All the newer boats with the later Landy kites seem to really fly downwind  - just ask MarkP what difference a late model Landy made to his performance!!

I also have an Alani Mk1 in Royal Blue  as well as the new GP in Black. The Alani Mk1 was not a resounding success as the entry on the luff was too flat and the leech too open.

OK; sounds good.

When's the next F16 event, I might need to come and visit and look at Kites as I don't have to pay for sails yet.

Next event will be Datchet - date to be confirmed, but likely to be 16/17 Sept. Waiting to hear from Dave Tugwell (the boat you borrowed) as to arrangements/date/sufficient water

Otherwise I guess it'll be Grafham in October unless people do Round Sheppey or the Forts.

Any chance Datchet could not be that weekend as It's wifeekins 40th !

Also, (if possible) avoid the weekend of Sunday 1st Oct as I'm taking her for a thrash is a Lotus Exige and Ferrari 355

Yes, At Silverstone, no, neither are mine - New boat and a Fezza; maybe not...

Datchet's now confirmed as the 23rd/24th September.  F16s / A-cats / FX-ones racing on the water.  Are you going to have your Stealth by then, Simon?  If not, you'd be very welcome on the I17...

The water at Datchet is now down to the second "beach", which means launching and rigging is much easier.  It doesn't make that much difference to the available water - we had some great racing last year in similar conditions.
