I don't want to sound grumpy and killjoy, but those threads that evolve into pages and pages of chat will put people off. It's happened in the past and, just about a year ago, there has been a lot of regular members leaving because of a tiny minority of over-enthusiastic youngsters. Unfortunately, these people knew loads about sailing and always provided relevant comments but couldn't be bothered to wade through piles of junk (cross that, more personal messages )

Don't get me wrong, I know it's tempting and I've done it myself, but for the sake of the other 2000 members, could you (not just you, Ellie, but that happy quartet) refrain the endless streams of posts and... dunno.. use MSN? go sailing? ......study?

I'm sorry for encouraging Kita, BNS but she needs someone to chat to and was getting bored of us sl*gging her off on the 5k Mafia site. Anyway isn't the point of a banter thread for a chat, joke and laugh?

As I said, I don't want to be a killjoy and I've done it too (one memorable Friday afternoon, with Contender443, TT and Pierre  ). I just wanted to say that others might do a DSM on you!
