Evening guys, I've just bought a 505 to start learning sailing had Ribs, SUPs etc but wanted to try something new. The whole rigging is like a pigs insides, are there any drawings available anywhere showing basic rigging arrangement? The guy I bought it off used to race so there's loads of complicated ropes that the guy said could probably be taken out. If anyone can help that would be amazing

The 505 is a high level racing machine, so the sailors want every little aspect to be tweaked, hence the multitude of ropes. If you know how to sail, then you can mostly ignore the things you dont want to use. If you want to tie the clew of the mainsail to the end of the boom, and ignore the multi-purchase system which lead this control rope to either sidedeck, then you can ignore it! If you are not a keen sailor then you need to exercise caution taking such a boat out afloat - these are large sails, and the hull might be very tippy compared to the boats you learned to sail in. Which club are you at? There may be someone local happy to meet you on a Sunday if they are there anyway.
