Definitely not a "car-top" dinghy!
However, the rotomoulded hull will stand up to more abuse than either a FRP or Wooden Solo...

I'd guess that it's aimed more at sailing schools/training than as a racing/cruising dinghy.

I used to car top dinghies a fair bit back in the day, but these were 50-60kg hulls such as Mirrors, Lasers etc. Personally I wouldn't want to try car topping 75kg. Having said that, I think there's probably a market for a basic inexpensive dinghy so it'll be interesting to see what the landed UK cost is.

These is quite a lot of similar boats already out there in the market. It’s going to have to sail better or be cheaper  than them to get much market share . Time will tell.
Always nice to see any new dinghy launched , especially at this time .

That looks similar to certain other plastic moulded dinghies, compromised and heavy.

But I think these will be much cheaper.

It would be interesting to know prices, particularly of their sportboat concepts.

Most modern cars can only take 50kg on the roof. All part of the weight reduction to improve economy. I don’t think a cost has been published but if they get it cheap enough it could suck seed

As a former Flying Dutchman sailor I have to admit - that headline had me going for a moment...
I'm not arguing. I'm explaining why I'm right.

"chinese copy".  If you want a rotomould beginner boat the world is awash.  Terra, Zest, Neo, Pico, Topaz, Feva, Fusion, all the el-cheapo Hartley monstrosities (which I guess are cross funding the Osprey and Contender .. so mustn't grumble).

... wonder how much a rotomould Flying Dutchman would weigh!
