Remember painting and varnishing in a garage with the only exit being up and over doors, used to have to squeeze out under the part closed door to avoid stirring up dust from the door and mechanism

Something similar, builder goes to get a ton of sand, when they tell him the price, he says, its twenty pounds cheaper down the road, merchant says, get it from there then, builder, says they haven't got any, merchant, says, well when we haven't got any, you can have it for that price.

I built my own double opener doors, having removed the failed up and overs..
I've never had a garage with that height space though..

My current 16ft boat wouldn't fit though , it's got a 3 foot fixed keel and weighs 400Kg, 500 with me on board.

I too built hinged doors to replace a roller shutter. Much better!

I prefer Solid doors, better security and easier to paint, hate cutting in, especially to glass, someone told me to paint right into corners and over the glass, wait for it to dry, then use a flat scraper to clean paint of glass, didn't work that well, had to clean with thinners.
