Well it indicates that the comment is not meant to be taken seriously last time I looked, unlike others who like nothing more than even ruder comments without the benefit of such an icon, but then I'm thick skinned enough not to let it bother me. The 'waste basket thing' reminds of when my company decided to try a 'suggestion box', it was about the size of a large kitchen type waste basket, by lunch time it was overflowing onto the floor, almost every suggestion was various things they could do with managing director
