The crease is there because the retrieving line is hooked around the clew and probably also because the sail is oversheeted

It's my kitesurfing helmet, which I'd been up to before I was co-opted into the boat against my better judgement, can't remember the exact details, but I do wakeup screaming having been at the mercy of the young sea witch helm, and I'm only just over the PTSD..
