Sailing Club Manager

   Does your sailing club use https://www.sailingclubmanager.com/ as their club admin software? It's a package specifically designed for managing a sailing club - finances, website, duties, results etc. If so, does it work well for your club (pls post a link)? Are there issues your club have come up against using it? My club has been trying to use it for some months now, and...at this point in time...it feels like it's been a bit of a struggle! Interested to hear informed views.

	My club only uses tech to calculate handicap races.

	We use it at https://www.salcombeyc.org.uk/ I believe it took a while to adjust, something to do with accounts and online booking (180 Merlins trying to enter at the time crashed the server in 2017), but it seems to be working fine now.

	Both of my clubs use it (Carsington SC and Manor Park SC). It takes a while to setup I believe and a little trial and error is required prior to going live but it has certainly improved our club admin etc. Particularly so at Manor Park where we're a 'traditional' volunteer-led club. Being able to tie membership with boats, duties, fees etc has bought everything under one roof. Our first year with it this year but there was a much smoother - and faster - membership renewal as auto-invoices were issued and responded to with just a couple of clicks. I'm able to create mailings to the club and the system does all of the interrogation itself ('Unsubscribed'/Suppressed email address etc) so I'm fairly safe that stuff is going to those that want it and, more importantly, are actually members. At the moment we love it. More tweaks to allow us to take entries to social events, racing etc. Edited by fleaberto - 25 Sep 19 at 1:42pm
