I hadn't realised how unlucky Warren & Hunt had been with their silver. The FD trials were obviously a lot tougher than the Olympics themselves.
Thank goodness sailing kit has improved since and sideburns have gone out of fashion.

Nowadays, typically if you come third you have to write the report. Back then in the Finns it would appear you had to write a song instead...….

Kiel week happening now... there's some good footage from the 49er/FX and Nacras.
Of course what the video above so well is follow the story of the season through and you really get a sense of the characters.

I did chuckle at the folky Finn ditty ... I bet that film was quite ground breaking at the time; some of the footage was clearly done by a swimmer

Interesting summary talks about him being a victim of cheating. I thought the film was quite pointed about Patterson breaking his slow mast in the trials.
