I had a bizarre mishap last year. A marquee took off in a sudden overnight gale and wrapped itself around the mast of my Finn, snapping it off at deck level. The owners of the site and marquee disclaimed responsibility so I had to claim on my own insurance,

The awkward thing is that it's a fairly old boat with a carbon mast and the cost of a new mast is more than double what the whole thing is insured for. Having decided to claim, the insurers accepted it as a total loss and paid up without quibble. 

A plaudit therefore for GJW Insurance.
One hull good, two hulls better.

Good on GJW, I am surprised the marquee owners got away with that, did you pass the details on to GJW, they might have decided to pursue them.

Yes indeed, I had initially thought about taking them to court for the full cost of a new mast but decided to leave it to the insurers to pursue them. They claimed that the wind that night was not predicted so they weren't negligent in not tying them down but the Met Office stats show that winds of F8+ are normal in the summer in SW England.  I passed all the info to GJW and offered to support any action they plan to take. Good luck to them.
One hull good, two hulls better.

This is what's been happening with bouncy castles, not going to blow is it? No ! Leave it then.
Surely all eventualities should be allowed for, their attitude towards paying for repairs matches quality of workmanship.
