Dan - yes it depends on lots of factors to make sure it works. Mainly minmising peel. If the skins on the laminate are too thin they will rotate and peel off the core If the pad is too thick on the edges there will be too much peel in the edges and it will unzip. Peel is the problem not shear stress, as there shoud be enough there for mosr dinghy blocks. I test loads of adheisves and am always amazed at the loads and the tiny bond areas - lots of this is based around our perception of whether it is better to stick things on or bolt them on which is sometimes wrong.

I'd be more worried about it tearing the gelcoat off.

For a given value of stick then yes. But don't ask me what the most suitable adhesive would be or how strong it would be!

yes, epoxy ones will have problems I think.

I think MMA may stick to rotomould?  (methyl methacrylate)
