Yes but.. And I don't even know how it is we are talking comparisons between a roto moulded childs beach toy and a sophisticated carbon based race machine, the one has economies of scale is sold in volume, often grant assisted and I would guess has quite a low spec of roly bits and sticks on it whilst the other certainly in the case of mine is all carbon topside with decent blocks and hand fared foils.

Are they even in the same price range then?

I had been considering trying my hand at flogging them on my website, but they are a little on the specialist side and I still haven't raced mine in 'normal' conditions yet so haven't quite worked up the enthusiasm for the challenge.

All boats are expensive.
All boats depreciate and have finite economcial lives.
But you don't need a brand new boat for oiks to bash around training.
My Laser is alright for club racing, it cost me less than 1/3 of the brand new price.
I'd guess there are Fevas out there which have done a year or three at the front of the fleet for about half price.

There are probably cheaper options if you are able to put time into maintenance.
