A mate of mine, not a too shabby sailor, and keen and fearless bought a Musto. He also bought some pro training, I'm damn sure he would have been better off in a 600, as it was he never did get to grips with the Musto.........

Anyway, both the Musto and 700 are way over the OPs budget.....

I think a musto is easier to sail than a 600 without the kite. It is easier to tack and gybe and pretty seakindly as well due to its length. Put the kite up and if you don't systemise the manouevres then yes you will struggle.

My mate struggled to get it around the corners, his coach said he needed to hit the trapeze with more aggression exiting transitions. TBF he probably was not really up to it at that point and I never got the chance to try it (though he did offer). I haven't sailed a 600 either so I'm basing my assessment on watching others sail them but the 600 definitely looks less intimidating than the Musto..... I'll bow you your greater experience though (and try to get a sail on a Musto at the next opportunity.......).
