I took a Freddy (Ronstan/Frederiksen) ratchet block off my sons Oppy because the ratchet was a bit iffy. I took it apart and found there wasn't much wrong with it and assumed there would be a service kit available. However I cant find anyone selling them though - any ideas? Do they exist?
I've renewed a few Harken cleats which is easy and worth the time investment. |

great bits of kit.
Don't think you can get them anymore, but you can service them. 9/10 the reason it doesn't work is because the ball bearings are worn and are easy and cheap enough to replace. |

Springs in this case, the block is fine but the ratchet has failed. Seems a waste to throw away an £80 block for the want of £2 spring.
