Today proved another great opportunity to test out today's chosen combination of Gill longjohn, hydrophobe (think polypro) top and thermal spray top (think Aquafleece Pro).

Despite several capsizes, I was sufficiently warm whilst sailing, but the moment we came in after racing I struggled to keep warm enough.

I'm now faced with a number of options, which should be left for October / November time rather than discussing in the middle of August:

1)  Add a middle thermal layer between the hydriphobe and the thermal spray top (which is where I was when starting this thread).  Something that doesn't overheat me but does give some additional warmth.

2) Admit defeat with the longjohn and the freedom it gives you and go back to wearing a short arm wetsuit

3) Admit even greater defeat and don a dry suit (as my wife did today)

I'm still favouring adding another layer for those days like the last two Sundays in the hope that this combination will take me into October / November before moving onto the dry suit.

Having tried the Gul Profile and Gill Speedskin tops, both of which I find restrictive, I'm really not sure where to go to next.

I'd still like to hear from anybody who has tried the Rooster Thermaflex tops and I'm more than happy to take feedback on other suitable alternatives.
