Re earlier post - thanks for posting that, Mr Sparrow.

YW, at 10'6" the Ant isn't in the 420 class here; it's used between the basic training prams (Opti/Sabot/Manly Junior) and the Cherub/420 Youth boats. Great boat, but suffering in its market segment these days because kids are so much larger than they used to be that the Ant is a bit small in the hull for many of them.

I still reckon it would be a great basic trainer as well; start off with just the main and add the extra kit  as kids get better at sailing. I got one for our kids to use like that and now it's been passed on to do the same with friends.

A Finn would be my choice, which is fairly obvious, but if I could go back to my rugby playing, younger, fitter, more agile days it would have to be the D1, I even polished its deck such was its beauty

I'd have thought the Finn was harder work than a D1???

A different kind of work, I'd have thought - to go back to the rugby analogy from another thread, the D1 looks more wing forward to the Finn's second row - both hard work, but the wing forward needs quicker reactions, the second row more static grunt. I was going to use prop in this comparison, but I thought Finn sailors might come and sit on me.

Very good, I set off as a wing forward, grew, turned into a second row and played my best rugby, happy days

It struck me, I can buy both the Aero and the D Zero and get change for what a FatFinn would cost and they'd probably weigh less combined...

You Finn boys should consider this and maybe fit one to each foot..

As previously discussed, I think it would be a good idea to increase the Finn hull weight so we would appear more manly (if that is possible?) when pulling our boats up the slipway
