First time posting a new topic on this forum, so hope this is in the right place?

Just bought a Westerly Nimrod......research says there were 186 built....but our sail number is 216.

The mainsail looks to be the original, has sewn on insignia (correct for the class) and sewn numbers, so it all looks correct.
Anyone know how many were built?   I have a vague recollection that the class was revived a while back, so maybe more were built.

Also, ours has the keel winding gear in the cockpit (I'm sure it was built like this too), and so far I have only found pics/reference to winding gear in the cabin, so this may have been a late built boat or possibly a special order?
Any thoughts from anyone please,

Many thanks,

Sami.

Regarding your sail number, I have read somewhere that another maker took over from Westerly but I have no other details.
During research to enable me to renovate my Nimrod (No.71) I have seen a photo of a Nimrod with the keel winch coming to the cockpit.  Water entering the cabin through the exit from the keel case seems to be common problem, putting the winch in the cockpit would solve this.
The Westerly Owners Association has a forum, perhaps you would like to post a question there.
