As much as I was looking forward to heading out into the bay, staying in harbour was the right call in the conditions, and the waves, although not big rollers we still bigger than anything inland.
I had a great event, it was good to be there for a long weekend in great weather. We stayed in the GB team olympic accomodation which is a wonderful facility.
The racing was excellent, albeit requiring a few tweaks on race lengths etc
The courses were just fantastic, good lengths of beats, outstanding reaches, one tighter one broad, leading to some incredible planing and overtaking opportunities for the different handicap classes.
My results sucked as I had serious boat issues (need to have words with the builder - oops that's me). My Farr very nearly sank underneath me due to a split between the inner side tank and floor, so I'm really please to not have been out in the bay and thank the capable rescue team for a long tow home.

Not the large rollers you get out in the Bay but still plenty of big enough waves in the harbour (it's 2 miles square so a large bit of water). Not really a puddle. I can reveal that the waves at the end of the run on the final race on Sunday were plenty large enough thanks.
Tick - the 300s either have a black sail (new) or a white sail (old). Mine was one of the white ones (2006 vintage). I did, however, use my new sail (2008) for the pursuit race.

Yes it was you then. The C2 sail used by the 'boy' was 8 years old. He had considered a new one but saved his money......so that was ok then.
Sorry for your troubles Dave B. It was me who helped you fit it into the hangar. It looked lovely then!
