I came across this, what do you make of this new MOB recovery system ?

It looks a pretty neat idea (for big boats / commercial) as it makes one of the tricky bits of man over board recovery, the actual hoisting back onboard, seem alit easier.

Do you think it might catch on?

spelling mistake in link - you can work it out.

Problem is you still need someone to winch the person in, and I suspect for most people that means using the slowest winch speed to get the most gear advantage.

The only real downside i see is that the person in the water needs to be fully a part of the process to get into sling.  If they are overboard due to a smack on the head that system not going to help them.

There is another system that rolls the casualty back in horizontally so with a boat hook you can pull someone into it.  http://www.jasonscradle.co.uk/commercial.php  and more specifically for a leisure purpose or rescue boat http://www.jasonscradle.co.uk/frc_kit.php

No I'm not selling it. Unfortunately I couldn't make enough (anything?) out of Chandlery.

A useful experiment in why not to go into business based on your hobby :)
