Clap Clap Clap - great idea

Personally I loved sailing my N12 on my own, no dangly pole back then, just some jib cleats, it really wasn't too much effort and was an amazing boat to sail in a F2-3 upwind singlehanded.  I can see why some newer designs have incorporated jibs for single handers, if you go down the stayed rig route.

I would buy another 12 with this in mind, and frankly for a grand, it's a lot of boat for the money as long as you find one without too many maintenance issues.

Must be a PY bandit then......

Funny that's what all the Laser Sailors are saying even though in reality it's not quite as quick allround as a Laser, but it is a very agreeable boat to sail and if it had a carbon rig without stays it would be a standout craft, almost in D-Zero territory.

Perhaps we should find a local D-Zero bod for 'the lake' and see how they get on....

D-Zero? On that lake?

It would be punished, no matter who sailed it, with that handicap the lake is the home to Pancho Villa's army and all their girlfriends who sail Miracles.
