the bear away on a powered up 18 in that stuff makes excellent watching, never mind the ensuing chaos once the kites are up, even tacking looked bl**dy difficult, no real need to 'go across to Shirley' to have someone else say the obvious... sometimes it's better left unsaid in sports commentary (are you listening BBC?)

... no disrespect to Shirley BTW, good on her for trousering the BBC money and at least providing some antidote to the 'knowledgable' Mr Walker IMO

I was away fro part of last week so had to catch up in stages and thus I've only just got to the end.

But what a great series and fantastic finale.

And as has already  been pointed out the three guys presenting the show repeatedly prove that sailing makes a great TV sport, you just have to know how to do it.

All you need is a good camera man, some one who knows the racing who can get the camera to the points that matter and then commentators that know their fleet and who know what makes sailing great.

But what i liked was the way class wins out. Both Thurlow and Rag put together a good series, in may ways did nothing wrong (there was no shame in capsizing on a day like that) and yet 7 managed keep it all together for the whole series, doing what had to be done when it mattered most and to my mind were worthy winners.

But finally a well done to the Brits. Both boats put in a good showing and where at the sharp end of the fleet more often than not. Well done chaps.
