Can anyone help me? I want to become a senior instructor as I have been sailing for more years than I care to remember. The last RYA course I did was when I was a teenager.

Are there any courses available where I can go straight to SI level? Or do I need to do a basic instrutor course first?

I know I will need First Aid and Power Boat level 2.

Can anyone recommend a suitable training establishment in the South of England?

You need to be an instructor first, with 2 years instructing experience (or 1 year full time), you need first aid and Safety Boat - PB2 is for the dinghy Instructor course - and a recommendation from an RYA centre principal. I can let you know what the course is like next year!

I did my SI course at Rockley Point a few years ago and they were excellent.

Gael

If I keep a diary of my experience at Calshot in a couple of weeks do you think Y&Y might buy it and hence help defray the cost of the course?
