As suggested by HannahJ... how about For Sale and Wanted sections for the forum?

I understand that Y&Y makes a fair bit of its income from the Clasifieds section so There would have to be rules as to what can be advertised... Just the sort of stuff Advertised on club notice boards: Foils, Sailing gear etc.

It would take a bit of moderation (maby by some of the more longterm members) But it would be very simple to set up and could just as easily be scraped if it doesnt run as its suposed too.

Thoughts?

EDIT:  Ive never really noticed anyone using it so I didnt realise there was a section in the classifieds for kit untill I checked just now. I agree with Turnturtle it  removes the reason for a 'For Sale' forum (exept possibly if it was limited to low-value items) but the wanted bit could still be usefull.

If you mean Boats Wanted then I agree, Boats for Sale would never happen as it would run against the clasifieds section.

If you are looking for Mirrors specificaly Hannah: keep an eye on ebay, there seem to be an abundance of them on there usualy although it could be risky bidding without viewing the boat first.

I think we get a fair deal from Y&Y with this forum and website- no membership/login fee like other special interest sites

Some sites are still free: the site I help to moderate - click my sig below.  Is, and will always be free.

Id say the majority of sites along these themes are free simon, Im usualy found on a couple of similar car sites, and used to mod part of a well known magazines site before it was shut down. Most of them 'run for sale/wanted' sections and they work very well.

The classified section doesn't seem to have much in it.
