Hi all,
I thought that I had finished my boat until I did a water test, the boat seams are leaking on it (its a Heron made in 1963). I need to redo all the seams on it, can anyone recommend what to use as I have seen the string stuff and stuff in a tube, but really don't know what to use. Thanks in advance, Doomie

Doomie, judging by the age of the boat I'd say the glues used to build the boat have failed - a common problem in boats from the early 60s. The best thing to use will be epoxy resins and tape, but to be honest the most useful piecve of advice I can give you is repost your question here:
cvrda repair forum where there are lots of us with similar aged boats who have all encountered this problem before! You'll get the best advice and suggestions of ways to rebuild. Pretty friendly bunch too. |
