.....having problems posting in the "race management section"........just typed a "war and peace" message twice and it said I have insufficient permissions and I lost the lot......what have I done wrong? Embarrassed

HI, I'm sorry the forum is misbehaving. I cannot see any settings that are incorrect. I can only guess that one of the following happened:

a) You're using an iPad or Blackberry (we know we have issues with these)

b) You took over 30 mins to write your message, and in that time your browser 'cookie' will have expired, forcing you to log in again

c) You had previously posted 5 messages in 1 minute, so the forum thought you might be a spammer

I know they all seem unlikely if you've been able to post OK before. I do apologise - I know its infuriating when you click to submit and all your hard work disappears.

Do you want to try again? Perhaps compose the message in Word or Notepad (to save losing it again), then copy&paste it into the forum to see if it works this time around. Then we might know if it is just one subsection of the forum that is kicking you out, or whether it is more random.

If you have a long post just do it in word then paste it over - jobs a good un!

That does have the advantage of being able to spell check your missive first! Until I work out how to add speel cheeking to this forum...though of course that will spoil the fun of all you pedants...

This is really beginning to p me off, it's happened several times in the last couple of days and I've got so fed up I've not bothered re writing the post, I've taken to copying everything I write before hitting the post button, then get the red cross, then go back to the forum, find the correct thread and then paste into the box...
I'm afraid its just not very user friendly at the moment.
