The sailing season (ie racing) is or drawing to a close, so what will you do instead on your Sundays?

Fortunately can still take a boat out but as its raining, the wind is next to nothing (today), what do you lot do instead?

Carry on sailing - just less frequently (once a fortnight)

Just need to sort out my back (3 more weeks with the osteopath) and knee (torn cartilage) first

A number of the 5oh fleet have moved to Draycote for the early part of winter for training, so i hope to get out with them sometime soon.  Perhaps the Dash will be my return date??

Carry on racing at Ballyholme too. Every Sunday, 2.30. A record 87 boats hit the water a couple of weeks back which was awesome. Because not all clubs run a winter series, we get sailors coming from all over the East of the country to join in the fun. Everyone sails on the same short courses (350m between marks)  to keep the rescue manageable which for high performance spinnaker boats means a lot of work for the crews! And lots of laps for the multihulls.

So if your club doesn't sail during the winter...find one that does!

We're now running our racing skills workshops on Saturdays so that keeps interest up, plus the club races through the winter.  I haven't sailed all year, so no change for me.  I thought I would be just starting training now, so I joined Grafham as a winter member and took my new (to me) boat there, but now it looks like there might be more surgery.... Dead never, ever sail with a dodgy mainsheet cleat...

Beforehand I am squeezing in a trip to the US to buy cheap harken kit and an oregon scientific camcorder...that'll give me soemthing to fiddle with....
the same, but different...
