Unfortunatly I can spot a gust on the water and tell if it is heading or lifting before it hits the boat. The talk you gave two years ago really helped with this. Yes I was one of the few who bothered turning up. The stupid bit is normally cant be bothered. Especially if it is windy |

No it's still reverse irony. They aint 'clever' yet but they're boat skills have come on tremendously, they still can't spot a windshift if it came up to them whirled a wet cod up out of the sea, smacked them both in the face and whistled dixie... Edited by G.R.F. |

Over the line it was 505, 470, RS100, L3000 On handicap 505, L3000, RS100, 470 It was a dull light wind raining race. The confusion at the start was entertaining. Start should have been 5,4,1,0 the first attempt was 5, 3:50, 0:50, -0:10. It is good to see that most boats were over. "Clever & Cleverer" that cant be us! Edited by Andrewst |

Me again, raining last night, totally screwed my lead up to the start with a
dodgy launch (got some serious air on the way out unintentionally), then a kite jam, jammed up just couldn't drop it, still not sure why not, did it twice later on. Kept playing the right waiting for the wind to die and go offshore which it did a bit but never to the degree it occasionally promised. My trail guru switched itself off, need to work out a way to mount the iphone of joy either in the boat or maybe on my helmet. Half decent start and first beat, couldn't hold the kite on the reaches, then couldn't drop the damn thing, got into a right kitemare went from nearly first to last in one fumble, but managed over the course of the night to get back in touch with most of the front runners, 505 excepting they were long gone. Finished third over the water and probably about the same on handicap, never got to find out. Clever & Cleverer got a lucky break. |

Sorry I am using standard foils. The V3000 rudder wont just bolt onto a L3000 as the pintle gudgen setup is different. I would have otherwise have done it. I have also resorted back to standard sails after the first sail of the series ended in bitching. It also gives us better 3000 fleet racing at Hythe as they now seem to be comming out to play. So standard boat with upgraded kicker and mainsheet systems. The boat swap sounds a good idea. Can I cut Jeremys ropes to the correct length. I dont think we need to be able to sail the boat remotly from the shore. That reminds me Jeremy wanted a rope list. PS on second thoughts can I have Barrys boat. Its faster Edited by Andrewst |

I was watching the five oh. From where I was it looked like they failed to notice the wind shift and sailed the same course on all laps. If they were staying inshore to avoid time they also undercooked the tack and ended up double tacking at the mark. Big mistake. Dan tells me you got the race win on handicap. Well done. See you next week. Hoping for better wind |
