I'm getting quite good at breaking stuff now and just wanted to check I'm not alone.

This is the effect a F5 Gybe had on my kicker.

Gotta say despite being very biased the only block that ever break on the 14 are the holt ones we havn't replaced yet...The evidence is pretty plain.

I did a similar thing to my laser kicker a few year back except it was a 'hi-tension' one meant to be extra strong.

Looking at your 'spares' you have a harken 16mm air block, that should be man enough. Its not worth switching everything over but when things break just spend the extra pennies.

That said, when my kicker is cranked right on the 10+ year old holts were absolutely fine under big loads. Replaced with harken from the spares box when I re-spliced a new line in though just to make sure.

I've made an all harken set up now so if that blows up heads will fly!

I don't know why you're so proud of this disaster? F5 big deal !
what did you expect with those toy bb blocks. I'd maybe use them
for tidying control lines.
My philosophy is to always go much higher spec than you need. If
the blocks are overspec'd, they'll never break. Only the dyneema, if
worn around the attachment points, will give. Other than that it's the
fixings - in which case, bolt them rather than screw them in.

Time to man up and get your boat sorted

I have to say that Rods boat is probably the most sturdy feeling boat i have sailed in a long time! Took it out in plymouth with him a while back looking at sails and you really could just look at the sails without wondering whether the kicker would blow up in your face in a gybe!

I do like the B14 too. There is something incredibly smooth about the way it sails!

Also with Rod you know that if something does break then there are plenty of spares available too!
