Why not? Sounds fun, well organisied After all the punk did it a while back & it’s only 50 odd miles round, should be pretty easy to navigate - keep island on the left & go round the ends. Much like the Sheppey which I did last year.Just longer so pack more food & water. Use the 8.4 for the sea conditions & it`s looking more attractive the more I think about it. I already have the required safety gear. Could be a go`er Just have to e mail work for my rotas in June

There used to be a RTI dinghy race but elf & safety finished it off. My father raced his Hornet round in the fifities

Yeah I had a good look around the web last night & there appears to be NO round the Island for dinghies,so it`s a BUST.Disappointed really but there you go. But I think it could have been fun! |

there was a lot of discussion amongst the laser 2000ers about organising an RTI on the day after the main race a few yeasr ago but it fell through

More recently there was a cat race but again in was insurance having enough safety cover. They used to race Hornets across the channel but those days are long gone to much shipping |
